Kristopher Kanaly (a.k.a. Pyramid Guy) is an artist and muralist from Oklahoma City. With a family lineage in the arts dating back to his great-grandfather’s Colonial Art Gallery, founded in 1919, Kanaly grew up surrounded by artists, art collectors, and graphic designers. That influence shaped his path into art and graphic design, with early roots in street art and graffiti. His work has been recognized through awards, publications, and books, and has been licensed by world-renowned brands such as Vans, Meta, and Warby Parker. His artwork appears in national galleries, as well as on numerous outdoor murals across the U.S. and Canada.

Kanaly has completed notable commissions for The Portland Advertising Federation and Wieden+Kennedy/Portland in partnership with Brand Jordan (2004). In 2012, he was commissioned by The Womb Gallery to paint murals and assist with installations for exhibitions featuring acclaimed artists such as Dalek and Maya Hayuk. His art is also featured in The Birth of Icons, a book published by Vans, Inc., showcasing samples of his 10 hand-painted shoes displayed in Vans’ flagship stores nationwide.

In 2015, Kanaly’s contributions to public art in Oklahoma were recognized by the Google Arts & Culture Institute. That same year, he co-founded the Plaza Walls mural project, followed in 2016 by the creation of the Oklahoma Mural Syndicate (OMS), a nonprofit dedicated to the advocacy, curation, and funding of public art. To date, OMS has raised over $1,000,000 for murals in Oklahoma.

As co-founder of Plaza Walls and president of OMS for nine years, Kanaly helped shape the project into one of the nation’s leading mural festivals and a premier outdoor gallery in the Lower Midwest.

In 2017, Kanaly painted his largest work to date, Abstract Passages, a 10,000-square-foot underpass mural in Oklahoma City. Covering every inch of the space, the project became one of Oklahoma’s most celebrated murals and was featured on the cover of the state’s travel magazine in 2022. For his contributions, Kanaly was named “Artist of the Year” by the Paseo Arts District Association in 2018.

For more than a decade, Kanaly has worked under the moniker “Pyramid Guy,” channeling his creativity into murals, street art, and digital works. His signature style, known as the Galactiverse, explores ultra-flat abstractions where landscapes merge with otherworldly forms. Using sharp contrasts and simple geometric shapes, he creates vivid, immersive worlds—realms like the Galactic Adobes—that invite viewers to step into his distinct universe.
